This paper deals with the basilar question concerning the sense of the world and the sense of our existence; thinking means recognizing the traces of the being and questioning about reality. Our philosophical tradition and the whole history of ideas suggests us the effort the thinkers did to lead and to accomplish an authentic and deep interrogation about reality. That question presents and shows itself in the thought of Cusano and Hegel in its specific nature: as a research and an investigation posed by one of the higher spiritual tensions of the soul: the tension to the wisdom, to the sophia. That tension appears as the basilar metaphysical enterprise of the man who thinks.
