The article analyzes the most important aspects in Platonic discussion about the problem of identity and difference, particularly in reference to Theaetetus and Sophist. The first part is dedicated to show the aporias in the central passages of Platonic discourse (especially in reference to Aristotle’s criticism against the logic of πρς λλα), while the second section is focused on Aristotle (it is shown that the logic of κα’ατό adopted by Aristotle does not prevent the development of aporias similar to those already found in Plato).
